Freddie and Teddie
Professionally known as Freddie and Teddie, identical twins Freddie and Theodore Tisdale (born August 29, 2008) are 13 year old Tap Dancers. Born in Toledo, Ohio and now residing in Los Angeles, California, the classically trained pair enthusiastically dedicate 15+ hours a week to dance. The twins' mother discovered their gift of dance at the age of 4 when she signed them up for their first dance class. Their second year of dance, they began to train in classical ballet, jazz, technique, hip hop and continued to excel in tap.
Over the first 3 years, they performed in numerous local, community and private events. In 2015, at their Spring Dance Recital, they were given a chance to display incredible athleticism and passion for dance on stage in front of an audience of more than 1400 attendees. Freddie and Teddie received a standing ovation for their recreation of the Nicholas Brothers' in "Stormy Weather" (1943).
In August 2015, Freddie and Teddie opened and performed in the All Star Tap Concert for the LA Tap Festival for the one and only Debbie Allen. This was quite an accomplishment for the 6 year old duo.
It wasn't until the NBC show, Little Big Shots, from executive producers Ellen DeGeneres and Steve Harvey, did the dynamic duo decide they wanted to be in the spotlight full time. They were featured on commercials, billboards, magazines, as well as Access Hollywood, Access Hollywood Live, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote Little Big Shots. Freddie and Teddie were selected to be a part of the Walgreen's Red Nose Global Campaign, in which they were featured in a commercial during the 6 hour telethon. They have also appeared on Despierta America a Spanish version of Good Morning America.
In July 2016, the tapping duo traveled to Bogota, Colombia to appear on Grandes Chicos (Colombian version of "Little Big Shots").
As soon as they returned to Los Angeles, they hit the dance studio to prepare for their next international project. The twins were eager to be part of a video produced by Maati Baani, a band from Mumbi, India, which featured 45+ child prodigies from all over the world. Maati Baani recreated Micheal Jackson's inspirational song "Heal the World", throughout the song you can hear the taps of Freddie and Teddie as well as see them throughout the video. To date the video has received over 60 MILLION views on Facebook!!
These Tapping Twins had a 3rd opportunity to appear on the "Little Big Shots" franchise, this time in London, England. Not long after returning from the UK, they were called back to Bogota, Colombia to appear on another episode of Grandes Chicos. This second appearance was filmed in Colombia; for the series in Mexico.
On January 16, 2017, Freddie and Teddie had the honor to perform at the Live 49th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Service in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Bernice King, US Senator Bernie Sanders, & Singer Tyrese Gibson were also present for the service..
Freddie and Teddie also appeared on Siempre Ninos con Don Francisco filmed in Miami, which featured talented kids from around the world. Siempre Ninos was Telemundos #1 kids show.
Freddie and Teddie kicked off the summer of 2017 traveling to the Netherlands to film the 1st season of the Dutch version of Little Big Shots, called Little Big Stars. While in Europe they also visited Paris, France where they were Special Guests Performers at a Paris Summer Festival which they performed with a live orchestra. They returned home and ended the summer with a performance at the OC Tap Festival Show, "Back to the Roots".
Halloween 2017 made the 3rd time the duo missed Trick Or Treating due to their travels. This time it would be filming Pickler and Ben show located in Nashville, TN.
In November 2017, the twins received a message from the international tap star Chloe Arnold, who is also an Emmy nominated choreographer, inviting them to join their youth tap company SoleTalk. She and her sister Maud Arnold quickly bonded with the twins becoming mentors. The tap stars began to introduce the boys to other professional tap dancers and celebrates which inspired them to work hard. Gaining new family and loving community opened many doors and created many amazing opportunities to perform.
In 2018, the "Tapping Duo" were selected to be contestants on Nickelodeon's new game show "Drop That Seat". Freddie and Teddie used their "twin-telepathy" to win cash and claim the title for their episode. A few weeks later they learned to "Meditate" for the 2018 BET Awards where they performed with the Rapper J Cole.
July 2020, in the mist of the pandemic, they were invited into the recording studio by Kendrick Lamar. The boys anxiously awaited to hear how they would be included on Mr. Lamars album. Midnight May 13, 2022 the highly anticipated album was released. Throughout his latest album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers”, you will hear their taps on several tracks.
When you meet the twins you immediately fall in love with their kind, humble, and well mannered personalities. On most Sundays, Freddie and Teddie are out with The REAL Foundation, the families foundation which feeds hundreds of homeless each week. When they are not volunteering, traveling for appearances, training, or filming, they enjoy being your average 13 year old boys who love to play video games, baseball, swim, ride their bikes!!
Freddie and Teddie are represented by Go 2 Talent Agency and focus on Dancing, Acting, Modeling and playing the drums.
